Incredible

Country

Uganda is very dusty, but so beautiful. It is very modernized but they have retained their culture in their every day goings about.

Project & Staff

Bazil and Alice are amazing amazing people, I am so grateful to have to built a relationship with them that has lasted for years. The kids are all extremely helpful as well.
Bazil and his children made a website that beautifully explains everything you need to know about the experience and the trip. I think having this website as a resource for potential volunteers on the Love Volunteers website would be very beneficial for the volunteers! [Thanks Zariah, we agree and have made the website available via the LV dashboard for confirmed volunteers.]

Tips

Set a strict budget for how much you will spend while you're there. If doing a safari or similar tourist thing, expect to pay for tips. Transportation will cost a certain amount every day. You will likely be asked to purchase needed supplies like soap, pads, bicycles for the village, or asked to sponsor a child's education. These purchases make a big difference, but if it isn't within your budget, firmly say no. You are there to volunteer your time, not your money (and you already paid for your trip), so you are not obligated to say "yes" to everything that you are asked to buy.
