“My time in Zambia made a difference!”

General Impression

Overall Rating:    10 / 10

My time in Mwandi Zambia was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone wanting to make a real difference in a rural African village. Mwandi is located 3 hours outside of Livingstone in Western Zambia. The camp where volunteers live is in the village and walking distance to the pre-school or construction projects. The accommodations were great, the people who run the volunteer projects for Love Volunteers, Paula and Dan, live on site with us and took great care of us.

Having volunteered numerous times throughout Africa I especially loved this placement because we were able to help on different projects. In the morning we worked at the pre-school with the amazing kids and in the afternoons we helped build mud huts for families in the village. This is a very well run placement and it is making a huge impact in the village where so many families are affected by HIV.

I also got the opportunity to go on safari to Botswana with a few other volunteers and Paula and Dan. I would highly recommend this as it was incredible!

I really felt my time in Zambia made a difference and would encourage anyone who is considering it to go. Living and working in the village and seeing the impact you can make is an experience you will never forget.
