“ It was a pleasure to help!”

Yep, we're back in Oz now and getting back to 'normal' life. Apologies for not getting back sooner. The internet in Mwandi wasn't too good. I actually appreciated this as it allowed me to forget about the outside world and really give all my mental and physical energy helping Paula and the team in Mwandi.

I've attached a few photos of what we did. Like most who volunteer with Paula, we helped build houses for people who really needed them. In our case it was for a 74-year-old grandmother (Gertrude) who was solely responsible for her three grandchildren. The most amazing thing was seeing how physically able Gertrude was at the tender age of 74. She was more able-bodied than people half her age back in the western world. It was a pleasure to help contribute to her new home. Gertrude would often join and help us apply mud to infill the house framework and was always smiling. From those smiles one learnt how appreciative of life we all should be.

Josette also did a lot of painting of the new pre-school Paula has put so much energy towards starting.

Thanks for all of your help and for making this possible!
