“Uganda gave me an invaluable perspective!”

General Impression

Overall Rating:    10 / 10

My time in Uganda met and exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt that I was in safe hands with the local coordinator which made all of the difference.

The work I did at Kidron Children's Orphanage was so varied - some days I would collect and store firewood for the orphanage, other days I would go on errands with the Orphanage director, and other days I would be teaching in the Orphanage's primary school. In between all of this I was able to entertain the orphan's kids and spend time with local staff members.

The two months I spend in Uganda gave me an invaluable perspective on communities that are much less privileged than my own. I came away feeling like I left a mark on the people I spent time helping, but more than that I felt like the community left a mark on me. It left me excited for my next adventure.
