“ I am truly satisfied!”

General Impression

Overall Rating:    10 / 10

Overall, I am truly satisfied with my second volunteering trip to Vietnam. I managed to catch up with the staffs and the children in the orphanage and saw how much they have improved compared to last year. For example, a girl who used to walk with leg splints now can walk on her own, and another who used to depend on a walker to stabilize herself, now is able to stand on her own feet. It is changes like this that made me feel worth waking up early in the morning anticipating what I could do next with them for the day. I also managed to capture wonderful photos of interaction between the children and my fellow volunteers that will stay meaningful for a long time.

I was able to meet fellow volunteers who are as enthusiastic in improving the children's development, as well as volunteers involved in other projects. Being able to share my previous experience with the other volunteers and working by their side makes me learn to improve myself as well. I believe we are constantly learning, no matter from the younger or elder ones. Everyone who came into our lives are meant to teach us something - the good gives happiness, the bad gives us lessons, and the best leaves us with priceless memories. That is the value I have earned during this trip. I hope there will be another trip next year, till then I will hold onto these values and continue encouraging others to join me for the cause!
