“Beautiful people and students. ”

General Impression

Overall Rating:    9 / 10

This trip was amazing. I did not go into this trip without many expectations, because I did not know what to expect. It was not luxurious or easy, but that is not what I was looking for. I loved that I was able to stay with a host family because I felt it gave me better perspective on the culture and our volunteer location. I loved volunteering at the school, working with my teammates, and getting to interact with the children. Seeing our progress over the week, both in the work around the schoolyard as well as our ability to work together in that new environment, was a very fulfilling experience for me.

Country

I personally loved getting to see Nepal- it is so different than what I am used to. There were just some small things that took some getting used to, such as the crazy traffic and the situation of many of the bathrooms. (However there are always things that are hard to adjust to when you travel) I love Nepali food and the balanced diet I had there. Our host family was vegetarian, and filled us up with wonderful amazing food. The weather was great the whole week (sunnier and warmer than I expected) but the pollution and dust there is really bad I enjoyed visiting Temples and religious sights.

Project & Staff

Our hosts were very gracious and generous. I loved being able to live with the president of the school we were working at, and learn about his story. A extremely wonderful school to work at. Beautiful people and students. I enjoyed the projects we worked on. We had to improvise some things since resources were limited. Got to design and paint a quick mural which I enjoyed a lot.

Tips
