What an amazing opportunity to be immersed in another culture and to learn about their struggles and joys. What a blessing it was for me to be welcomed into their lives with such openness and care.Country
Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls in particular), is a beautiful country and its people are kind and honest. The country, however, is struggling deeply with economic and resource issues. Even though there is plenty of water and electricity available, the locals are restricted in being able to access it. Power was very intermittent and water pressure so low it only trickled from the taps - all of this controlled by the government.
Project & Staff
The Childcare project was so rewarding. I received unconditional love from the students and staff and I had difficulty in saying goodbye. The staff took such good care of us and we became ‘family’. Can’t speak highly enough for how they manage the guests and their home which is so willingly opened to us. Doug and Memory are now lifelong friends.
