“It was an incredible and unforgettable trip. ”

General Impression

Overall Rating:    10 / 10

It was an incredible experience, very enriching and fascinating.
Everything was really great : the organization, the local team, the guest house, the medical staff, the atmosphere with other volunteers, the country, the cambodians…
It was perfect. It was much better than I expected. In my opinion, there is nothing to change, everything is very good.

It was an incredible and unforgettable trip.
Thank you very much !

Country

Cambodia is a beautiful country as well as the Cambodians who are incredibly kind. There are many beautiful places and many things to do that are unmissable : Angkor temples, Tuol Sleng genocide museum, the russian market, the central market, the nigt market, the pepper farm of Kampot "The Plantation"...

Cambodians are always ready to help us even if it doesn’t bring them anything. They smile, laugh, and discuss with us despite the language barrier. They are very warm.

Project & Staff

At the hospital, the whole staff was really nice and kind. The medical resuscitation department was very interesting. The doctors speak French and write their diagnoses in French. Some of them came to France during their studies. Therefore, I think they were happy to speak French again and to see French people.
They took the time to explain everything to us and to help us.
The functioning of the hospital in Cambodia and in France are very different so it was very interesting to discover another organization and way of doing things.

I do not regret at all to have chosen this mission and not another one.

Tips

They have to know that the organization is really good. We aren’t alone. You and the team were always available if we had any questions and that we could ask them for help if we needed it. For example, they helped me to find my bag that was lost in the airport.

They have to not worry about the guest house. The atmosphere in the guest house was also great. We were all talking together about our day. The meals were very friendly. We all got along very well and communication in English was not a problem. The guest house is very good, the meals are very good and varied. The rooms are clean and large. Drinking water is provided.

In my opinion, they must enjoy the week to do their mission at best and to visit the capital Phnom Penh and must enjoy their weekends to visit other cities like Siem Reap, Kampot... The weekends are very easy to organize. The volunteers give each other advice on where to go, where to sleep, how to get there and what to do.
