Program overview

Volunteering in South Africa is an incredibly rewarding and worthwhile experience. A country which is healing after years of division, South Africa offers volunteers a unique experience to live within the local community. Our South African partner is dedicated to providing high quality, affordable international volunteering. The well-established team has played a crucial role in helping the local community for almost 40 years. Based in Cape Town they will assist in making your volunteer experience the most memorable yet!

During their placement volunteers make a valuable contribution assisting at local community projects. Our partner has worked very closely with disadvantaged communities, projects and institutions. The organisation endeavours to make a difference by offering development programs, training skills, stimulating local economies and creating opportunities for people from different cultures. It’s a chance to learn from others, to respect other cultures and to embrace the concept of working together. Through this process we hope to achieve greater development within these communities. We believe that international voluntary services help empower local communities to develop self reliance and sustainability.

Although South Africa is the largest economy in Africa the very uneven balance of wealth means there continues to be serious economic and environmental problems, as well as the increasing prevalence of HIV/AIDS.
